The difference between knowing and believing is that the knower consciously experiences the truth of what they believe while the believer is often stuck with the idea of it.

A believer can go around in circles with their beliefs and never experience the truth beyond them. Forever it will be stuck in their mind as an idea, but never experienced as a reality.
