An Illusion of Self
Most of us have suffered from overidentification with our ego, because of this we do not recognize it unless fear discloses it to us and others.
Duality allows for the manifestation of our ego, but in doing so it distracts us from our greater consciousness known as the higher self. We are hypnotized in a sense to only recognize ourselves as the ego.
