Our consciousness is flexible.
It can focus outside us and also within us.
The difference is where we place our attention.
Outside us we need to place our attention on our thoughts and mind.
Inside us we need to place our consciousness (attention) on our feelings.
To feel is the essence of meditation.
It is to consciously merge with what lies beyond our physical and mental self.
This is not logical to our mind and imagination.
They cannot feel what exists beyond them.
Our fears and ego, which protect our lower conscious identity stand in the way.
Voluntary surrender of them is needed to proceed within.
To reclaim the totality of who and what we are.
