Like a drowning person there are times in our life where we feel ourselves sinking consciously and drowning in despair.
It can be an uncomfortable time where we feel we are losing faith in ourselves and life.
It is a time where our cherished beliefs can betray us, as we feel we have arrived only to realize we still know nothing.
Beliefs cannot teach us knowledge. They are static ideas that try to describe knowledge but fail to make it alive to us and in us.
To be aware and awake is to make a belief alive consciously. We own it in our consciousness and not just our memories.
Desperation is a time when our beliefs fail to convince us of the reality and truth of life and ourselves. Our beliefs are challenged and we may have to let them go to discover their reality within us.
