In the world fear breeds a strong desire to be in control.
The struggle in our life is a battle between surrender and control.
It has made many slaves to the system.
It has stolen their freedom.
It has robbed them of both trust in themselves and life.
They are told that freedom only comes through work.
But does it?
Does the workaholic have a good relationship with their children or partner?
Dedication to working for others offers little time for quality in personal relationships.
Those who work hard are led to believe that when they have reached the goal set by their job that they can rest.
The carrot then is moved further from them.
There is no peace or end to the fulfillment of desire.
Our ego is never satisfied.
The irony is that only when we are willing to surrender our ego does life begin to make sense.
Only then do we face our fear of control and learn that we can trust both ourselves and life.
Only then do we get a taste of peace within and real joy.
A slave is never free until the chains are removed and that chain is desire.
