The desire to be free of personal self government and independent of our higher self is against the nature of existence. Even though we have been given the choice for individual personal freedom it seldom ends in peace and happiness or personal fulfillment.
One of the lessons of our freedom to choose is that our choices seldom bring lasting peace and happiness. Freedom is an endless search for that which we naturally carry within us, but fail to seek it. The mantra of our ego is LOOK HERE, NO HERE, IT’S OVER HERE.
There is no freedom in the endless pursuit of desire. This does not mean that we cannot enjoy the pleasures of this life, but we have to keep in mind an endless pursuit of them does not end in lasting peace or happiness.
It is only when we come to the end of this selfish outer desire that we realize how empty and incomplete it all is. From there we can plot a new course within us to recover lasting peace and happiness.
Only through the oneness and with our higher self can we experience what is considered to be lasting peace and happiness. This is the journey of life for us all.
