For the unaware desire is the whole meaning of their life. They seek pleasure and excitement. They may live to attain wealth, power or fame. Anything to satisfy the craving to be whole or fulfilled.
It is an endless search this desire and lifetimes are spent for that one thing that will ease the suffering and pain of our existence. We want to be happy, but it seldom lasts.
