Most people spend a lifetime seeking fulfillment, in career , relationships and possessions. They want the American Dream of Wealth, Fame and Recognition.
Few will attain it, but some do and they have their lessons to learn.
Our unfulfilled ego seeks such things to justify its existence. An unfulfilled ego lives in misery and self condemnation. It feels it is a failure.
The idea of acceptance is foreign to them and their ego thinks it is absurd.
Most of us learn the lessons of life after we have fallen down and tasted failure. Failure is both bitter and sweet.
It is bitter to our ego which must feel loss, but it is sweet to some because they come to realize another way of life exists.
This inner way does not deny the outer trappings of life, but they are secondary to our inner journey.
This journey is the journey of wisdom. Wisdom is the higher intelligence of the universe. Our ego does not work with it.
By nature the ego is selfish and to work with higher intelligence we must become selfless.
We must allow it to take the lead and trust in its wisdom for us.
No person’s karma or lessons are the same. Every karmic lesson is meant to cause us to examine our life and its intent.
We are not guaranteed success in life as our ego defines it, but we are guaranteed that every experience is what we need to learn selfless love and wisdom. Accepting them is the key and listening within.
Life that is based only on the accumulation of things is not fulfilling and often leads to an empty loneliness with the knowledge something is still missing.
No matter what is happening or what we have been through, acceptance and humility are the keys to discovering the truth in them.
That truth is who we actually are and if we follow higher wisdom or not.
