Life for many is a pursuit of filling the emptiness.
Driven by our ego we feel a need to have goals, purpose and a pursuit of pleasure.
Our physical, mental, emotional and particularly spiritual needs (desires) crave our attention.
We often fill them by chance or luck of the draw.
We hunger to be whole to ease the craving of desire.
Life in all of its aspects is a craving to fill an empty void we feel within us.
It is never satisfied for most.
Upon our death bed and as we look back on our lives we see that nothing we did or achieved has successfully filled the emptiness within us.
We hunger to hold fast those memories that will soon fade away.
We also realize that we are facing death, the ultimate emptiness with nothing to take with us but empty memories.
Up to that point we did not realize the gift emptiness was to us. All the loss and lack in our lives was an opportunity to soul search the meaning of it all.
For those who did when they face death they have something to offer it.
It is humility that death is looking for. Humility is priceless when facing emptiness.
A willingness to let go and embrace the unknown which for those who are aware has become the known.
All along emptiness was a calling card to look within, come within and be full once again.
